Putting Our Community First!
Our children deserve the best. We need to find a way to fully fund education, relieve the burden of overcrowding and compensate our teachers for the great work, time, effort and passion they bring to the classroom. Inclusive education is a right in this country and we need to treat it as such.
This isn't just a District 59 problem, it is a national one, and one where I'd like to make a difference on the State level. My wife and I were on the Affordable Care act a few years ago and we know that wasn't the solution as it was super expensive and the coverage was lacking. We can't charge the working class so much they can't feed their children or afford a roof over their heads. We need to make sure everyone has access to healthcare and especially protect our sick, our disabled, our children, our elderly, our veterans and our poor from rising costs. We know the current system doesn't work and neither did the old one - so positive, smart and responsible change is needed.
Bottlenecks, traffic and overcrowding plague the district as more and more housing and development goes up. We keep building, but we don't look at how to improve our roads to handle the increased volume. We need to take a smart look at safe, accessible and alternative transportation methods (buses, rail, new transportation technologies) and look at how we can alleviate the traffic burden. To attract investment and create jobs, we have to address these issues.
District 59 is an amazing district filled with a diverse set of people and businesses. I will represent this diversity and everyone in this district regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation. We need to embrace what makes us different and use it to unite us as a community. You all have my ear...
